I just recently signed up for a one year workout at Retrofitness Gym Center. The contract stipulates that I only have to pay twenty dollars a month, plus a one-time fee of one hundred fifty dollars. When my contract with them expires after a year, and I decide to continue going to the gym after that, I would not be charged of any other extra fees anymore except for the $20 dollars monthly fee. This afternoon was my first time to go to the gym. I went to Wallington Retrofitness Center – a fifteen minute ride from my place. It was a grandiose and spacious place. They have a lot of gym equipments in that center. Their tread mills have individual built-in TV Screens, aside from big ,flat screens mounted on the walls. They have all kinds of sports and gym equipments that you can imagine.
I started working out on the treadmill. I must have spent about thirty minutes working out on the treadmill before I decided to try other sport equipments. Then I tried all kinds of dumb bells to exercise my muscles. I tried also various kinds of lifts and other muscle exercisers. To exercise again after some weeks was very straining, I must say. All in all, I spent about an hour or so in the gym today. I knew I didn’t want to over exercise. This was my first time to go to the gym, anyway. I was perspiring profusely afterwards. I felt tired after a while, but I had a good sense of feeling inside of me. I knew I needed to exercise again. I needed to get back to my regimen and routine just like before I went home for vacation.
I don’t need to remind anyone who is afflicted with diabetes like I am that exercise is a very important component of our treatment. I have already said before that we need to exercise regularly and watch our diet in order for us to regulate our blood glucose. There is no other way. It’s the only way. As per my doctor’s advice, I need to exercise at least thirty minutes a day, three times a week. Now that I started again to exercise, I hope I can do this on a regular basis.
When I was on vacation, I found it difficult to get a regular exercise. For the first few days while at home, I was waking up early morning in order to go for a walk around the village. I spent at least thirty minutes or so walking around the village for my daily exercise. Then I got complacent and lazy. On occasion, however, I tried to play basketball too, just to exercise a bit. But it was not a regular work out. When I was not exercising, I felt that I was getting heavier again. It was not a good sign. So when I came back to the US, I thought of enrolling in the gym so that I will be forced to do my exercise and regimen. Well, I just started it today. I just hope that I am able to continue my regular exercise and be committed with it.
